CIVIL ENGINEER ASSOCIATE
EXO is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer Associate to join our Orlando, Florida or Alexandria, Virginia office. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers and design staff to support land development projects through due diligence, design, permitting, and construction administration.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of due diligence/site analysis
Preparation of conceptual/schematic site plans including layout, grading and drainage plans, earthwork calculations, stormwater management, and utility plans
Preparation of construction documents including demolition plans, site layout plans, erosion and sediment control plans, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management plans, utility plans, transportation improvements, and site details.
Preparation of quantity takeoffs and project cost evaluations.
Preparation of engineering or technical computations and design solutions
Preparation of reports
Perform permitting assistance and coordination efforts
Collection and characterization of field data
Observation of construction or site work
Communication with internal and external clients
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in: AutoCAD/Civil 3D; Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with ICPR, WaterCAD, Hydraflow, or similar engineering software preferred
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure within three (3) years.
4-6 years’ experience in civil engineering or related field is required
Experience with site/land development projects, stormwater & utility design, and permitting
Previous exposure to stormwater and utility modeling programs
Knowledge of Florida regulatory processes with ability to support projects throughout the Southeast
Well-organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Strong communication skills (written, oral, and listening), and good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work and interface well in a collaborative project team environment
